more drama.
my car got 'taken off' me! my fault really. should've stopped procrastinating and taken a good look at the stupid rego sticker! no wonder i felt such unrest driving the past week. but no worries.. about 3 days and $600 later i should get it back! oh boo.
but! like daddy says, if a mistake can be corrected just by paying afew dollars, it's not too bad. so thank God for that :)
made my first batch of pineapple tarts and walnut cookies solo! :) will upload pics sometime. heh, they were devoured in absolutely no time. 2 days of hard work in 2 hours! :) heh
visited a tgif gathering a church organised. and hah! i was like the only girl-girl there. and so... explains the first time this year someone asked for my number! haha!
then! been reading prov in my devo and learning heaps and we did judges at this cell grp my friend was leading which i visited! oh wait! did you know i "brokeup" with my previous church? tat's wat it feels like anyway.
so anyways, my fav story in from judges 1-5 is when deb was judge! and she asked barak (this other dude, not obama) to go overtake this city and even promised that God was gonna give him victory! BUT! he said he'd go only if she went. now i dunno if he wanted her there cos he liked her.. cos if he did he ought to be shot cos she was married. haha so i dun think he liked her. but perhaps it was a lack of faith/intimacy with God that led him to saying that. but anyways. becos of that, deb said she'd go and prophesies that the battle'd still be won but the glory will not be his but a woman's! wow. wat a blow, wat an insult! anywaytheanyway, they fight and the other city loses quite badly and sisera the general runs away! and there! my fav part! tat's when jael invites him in and then drives a tent peg into sisera later while he was sleeping from exhaustion AND! presents him dead to barak. wow. wat lessons you can glean from this passage! think about it. and read about urself. judges 4 i think it starts...
& today, i read in gty about genuine love. this is excerpted from j.macarthurs exposition on the 'humility of love'
(john13.1)"Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end." "To the end" in the Greek is eis telos, and it means this: He loved to them to perfection. He loved them to the uttermost. He loved them with total fullness of love. That is the nature of Christ's love, and He showed it repeatedly--even in His death. When He was arrested, He arranged that the disciples would not be arrested. While He was on the cross, He made sure that John would give Mary a home and care in years to come. He reached out to a dying thief and saved him. It is amazing that in those last hours of carrying the sins of the world, in the midst of all the pain and suffering He was bearing, He was conscious of that one would-be disciple hanging next to him. He loves utterly, absolutely, to perfection, totally, completely, without reservation. At the moment when most men would have been wholly concerned with self, He selflessly humbled Himself to meet the needs of others. Genuine love is like that.
