Thus Saith the Lord...?
a book i've been reading by John Bevere
i believe this book is for anyone who has had words (of prophecy) spoken in and over their life. for anyone who might be remotely interested in hearing the voice of God or how to discern His Spirit and more.
heightened awareness of my own sinfulness and my need for a savior. searching into the deeeepths of my soul makes me wonder if i do because i love God or becos i profess to. oh deceitful heart.
then the difference between called and appointed. and self-appointed and God-appointed. (interestingly he states your self-appointed ministry would still bear fruit cos of the gifts God has given. read the book for the difference)
"A horse is not fit for battle until his will is broken. Though he may be stronger, swifter and more gifted than all those around him, he cannot serve until his will is broken. To be broken does not mean to be weakened. It means your will is completely submitted to the will of your master... ... our democratic society is a breeding ground for insubordination. true submission never wavers. yet today we only submit when we agree, if authority goes against our will/direction, we disobey or grudgingly go along with it until a better option presents itself. this makes us especially vulnerable to deception and counterfeit prophetic ministry. " john b.
k, i think that might be for you. don't waver.
lastly read it for how to discern false prophets
"for false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. see, i have told you beforehand" j.christ
and
"a man of God is not what he preaches but what he lives; his message is no greater than what he is" john b.
so read it. so we can be more aware and alert for our adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. (1peter5.8)
