macb from last week

so macbeth wasn't that bad. nor as difficult to read as i presupposed. in fact, wat was harder to swallow was the 60 page intro which took me 3 entire days. macbeth i devoured in less than a day. honestly, i thought it was a pretty simple story. but interestingly enough it drew for me some parallels with the bible. like lady mAcbetH inciting mAcbEth to cArry out the mUrder resembled how the serpent tempted eve to sin as well? i.e. with promises of the future uncertain, preying on the lusts of the flesh. then there's mAcb who sought after his own fate after the predictions from the 3 weird sisters/witches rite. that was kinda a david and saul reflection to me? except that david waited for God's timing and ended up being blessed and rightful owner to the throne whereas mAcb diEd, slain by one unknown to a woman. hah! macD. shAkespeAre has like suCh odd names for his characters. then there's how mAcB desired prophecy of the future and went to seek out the 3 weird sisters/witches. doesn't it remind you of king saul, who went to seek after the sorceress? haha, now the more i think about it, the more i think the plot wasn't original. O, my colleague thinks shakey's sick in the head. i think, like every good literary writer, he's able to encapsulate a dozen meanings in a couple of words,provoking thought. like

"and oftentimes, to win us to our harm, the instrumens of darkness tell us truths; win us with honest trifles, to betrays in deepest consequence"

or

"and you all know security is mortal's chief enemy"

or

"function is smothered in surmise; and nothing is but what is not"

so true isn't it? so i've a confession to make. because of my renewed interest in reading, i've been turning down opportunities to go out. hah. i've only tat many hours in a day you know? but now tat i've finished my 2nd book, i contemplating stopping reading again. after all, 'greek and roman philosphy after aristotle' isn't worth dinner with new friends i don't think. haha but it's really interesting how people think. like this dude epicurean or something la. he's like everything is either a vacuum or matter. and matter exists because it just does. and matter cannot be created out of nothing, which essentially is the vacuum. then he goes on and on for like 80 pages expounding on that one 'philosophy'. *yawn. sometimes i wonder why i even bother.
